RETAIL DESIGN ELEMENTSThe retail environment is a visually busy one. Consumers are bombarded with colour and texture from every angle, so it's vital to know how to stand out. Items like shelf talkers, danglers and shelf banners help companies get recognised in a sea of competition by calling out to consumers as they pass the shelves. We have a full range of options to help you stand out from the crowd and get noticed.
-
PACKAGING DESIGNIt’s the first thing they’ll see and how they’ll get to know you. Packaging is one of the most fundamental activities when it comes to product launches. A multidisciplinary affair, packaging design blends form, structure, materials, colour, typography and most importantly, key product information to deliver a container that is most appropriate. It’s also your best opportunity to make a lasting impression for your brand. At BORN OUT OF THE BOX we understand the challenges of designing packing the right way. Will it work from a technical perspective? Does it hold up to chilled and frozen environments? Will it stay standing the way you want it to during a busy shopping day when consumers are buying fast? How does the design make your customers feel? Do they understand what your brand stands for? When we work with you, we take a 360 degree view of your products and work to make sure you stand out, hold up and beat the competition.
-
SHELF TALKERSShelf talkers or danglers hang from the plastic front of a shelf, allowing a brand to reach out to potential customers as they walk past. Proven to increase sales and one of the most requested extras by your retail partners, shelf talkers are an essential piece of advertising in your retail arsenal.
-
SHELF BANNERSThese banners sit in the same space as prices but draw attention by being larger and more colourful than what is usually present. Often requested by retailers during promotional cycles, they help to draw attention to offers you may run such as buy 1 get 1 free or discounts. The design process is all important here, as a badly done shelf banner can make a customer think the product is on sale for the wrong reasons. BORN OUT OF THE BOX ensures your shelf banners are bright, colourful and full of the right information to maintain your brands reputation during sales cycles.
-
THE PROCESSThe first step in designing your perfect range is an initial consultation on what your packaging needs are. We first assess the best type of materials and packaging shape, then provide you 3 initial styles in blank form so you can see what the shape will look like. Once that’s signed off, we move to collecting all the relevant information needed on your product such as barcodes, best before dates, nutritional information, any claims your product can make and your cooking and storage instructions. These then go through a process of vetting to ensure the information complies with the countries you intend to sell in. Once we have all the information needed, we move to the packaging design itself. This is an iterative process where we will consult with you as we progress to ensure you are happy with the look and feel of your products. Once your product looks and feels right and has all the required information present, we proceed to lay it out on the keyline, the form that is required by your printer to make sure the packaging is the correct shape. We send this on with detailed instructions to you to be forwarded to your choice of printer and you are ready to order your first run of printed packaging.
